Addiction to Masturbation

CONFESSION
As a female child i was abused by a female friend, and this led to my influence on others sexually. As a child I didnt know it was wrong so i can remember enjoying it. After this i developed an addiction to masturbation and even now approximately  14 years later I still struggle with it. And this is why i feel ashamed- That I may have caused emotional scars to the people I influenced, as I have been scared and that I cant quite kick my addiction to masturbation.

GOD’S WORD SAYS
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB

DENNIS’S SUGGESTION
You are not defined by what tempts you. I would suggest you read the book ‘This Is My Destiny’ that was born out of my own need to understand my identity in Christ and to walk in victory. Another book would be ‘Victim to Victor’ also available here on this web site.

Dennis - I just got back from an Exodus Conference. I just want to thank you for your ministry. You're honesty, has been such a blessing. Thank you for being willing to be victorious and sharing with us the amazing work God has done in your life.

One question for those married, and separated by a job (military overseas, for example), is it scripturally OK to masturbate thinking about your spouse as a temporary "relief" until you can get back with your spouse? Again, I'm not talking about viewing images of others or having thoughts of someone other than spouse. This would be especially important question for those that Paul the Apostle said should "get married if they burn with passion" (i.e. those who have a naturally, unperverted, high sex drive).
