The creation of this song goes back many weeks
before the date I actually received it. Let me
summarize the circumstances we were facing:
shoulder surgery, ministry trip to Jamaica ten
days after my surgery, stepping down from a
major position on a board for a world-wide
ministry due to pressure from pro-gay groups
who watch me in the hopes of 'catching me' in
a slip-up (they had to create a slip-up in this one!),
distancing myself from this ministry so as to ease
the heat they were facing because of me (which
meant stepping down from ministry at their
conference a week later as well), feeling alone and
undefended (which I know is not true), losing a
family pet, losing a family friend, facing an uncertain
financial future, and then breaking a rib on top of it all!

It seemed we were under attack...but the other perspective
I had was that Father was trying to get me to rest...so
He could carry me. As the July 2012 Next Generation
Creative Institute neared all of these things came to
a head in my life and I had nothing left but to fall on
Jesus. This song came as I did the one thing that I
can always do in spite of my circumstances - I can
worship God...and when I worship Him I can see
what He sees, joy floods in, rest and comfort come
to my soul, the enemy is put under my feet and
out of my mind, God is glorified and I walk as a son of God.

I cannot stop singing this song...and probably never
will! Use the bridge for times of open worship and
singing in the Spirit. I dedicate it to the people of
NGCI and to my friends, Danny and Joanna Dunlap...and
to my wife who weathered this storm much better than
I...and helped me through it all.
