Song History:
Matthew 11:28-30
February 21, 1990
This song came to me as a prophetic song to our body. So many times, in our pride, we get to thinking no one cares or is concerned with our lives. That's pride because God's word tells us that He is concerned with every detail of our lives - and that man will always fall short of the glory of God when it comes to caring. Why not give up to Jesus! Be honest with how you feel and then let Him show you the depths of your sin and confess it that you might be healed. What a privilege it is to have a God who loves us even when we're honest. In honesty comes total freedom. In taking responsibility for our own attitude, thoughts, words, or deeds we find rest in God's unconditional love.

Verse One
Did you think that there would never be a way?
That the sea of sin would finally sweep you
Much too far away
Did you think that soon the load you carry
You could just not bear?
Did you really think that no one really cares?
Pre-chorus
Come to Me all who are weary, searching for life’s best
Take my yoke of love upon you and come into My rest
Chorus
For My yoke is easy and my burden is light
How I’ve always longed to carry you
Through the endless night
For My yoke is easy and my burden is light
How I’ve always longed to let you know
You are precious in My sight
For My yoke is easy and my burden is light
Verse Two
Heavy laden? Won’t you bring your load to Me?
If you’re weary, worn, or tired of trying
Come and learn of Me
Did you know that all you’re longing for
And all you’re dreaming of
Can be found in Me, my child, for I am love?
