Forty Days and Forty Nights
Songs of Contemplation and Intimacy V4
Vol. IV – Song Three – Day Thirty-three
Lift up your eyes on high
And see who has created these stars,
The One who leads forth their host by number,
He calls them all by name;
Because of the greatness of
His might and the strength of His power,
Not one of them is missing.
Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel,
"My way is hidden from the LORD,
And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God"?

Verse
Lift up your eyes as far as you can see
Who created these stars?
We say our way is hidden from the mighty hand of God
Just who do we think that we are?
What we all deserve is death
What we all deserve is hell
But we serve a God Who judges mercifully
He only wants our very best
He wants to meet us where we fell
He’s only wanting nothing less than to set us free!
Chorus
Your judgments are righteous!
Your mercy is deep!
You moved heaven and hell
Just to get to me!
Your blessings are more than my mind can conceive!
Great are Your judgments toward me!
Verse
Lift up your hearts as far as you can reach
And you will find it’s never enough
The only way to span the gap between us and our God
Is built on the bridge of His love!
What we all deserve is death
What we all deserve is hell
But we serve a God Who judges mercifully
He only wants our very best
He wants to meet us where we fell
He’s only wanting nothing less than to set us free!
Chorus
Your judgments are righteous!
Your mercy is deep!
You moved heaven and hell
Just to get to me!
Your blessings are more than my mind can conceive!
Great are Your judgments toward me!
