When I think about all the darkness in the world, it becomes easy to be overwhelmed. It
is when we see life from the underside of things that we get into trouble. When we see
from the enemy’s perspective, we only see heartache, despair, loneliness, discord, chaos,
bitterness, futility, etc., but when we see from God’s perspective, all those things are seen
for what they are: smokescreens to God’s reality. With the circumstances of life, God
sees opportunity for us to receive His grace, His peace, His love, His joy, and His hope.
The bottom-line truth is this: Jesus is in control. He rules and He reigns, regardless of
what we see with our human eyes. He rules over the darkness and sheds His light. He
opens blind eyes to be able to see the truth and respond to the grace and freedom offered
to us. In chaos and confusion, He brings clarity. In despair and heartache, He brings
hope and healing. He simply reigns over all circumstances and all mankind – whether we
choose to see it or not. Life is found in abundance when we see that our God reigns.
