This song was born for a friend of mine named Ron. Ron and I got to know each other through my Night of Praise and his prison ministry. His heart for people, for the Lord, and for worship was very inspiring to me personally. He always had a word of blessing and encouragement each time I saw him. Only in his early 60s at the time, I was shocked the night he told me he had just been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In tears, he asked me to pray for him and to pray for him. After that meeting, I began to ask the Lord to allow me to hear what He was singing over Ron. As I received this song I could not help but think of how no person wants to be forgotten – Alzheimer’s or not – and that the Lord never forgets us regardless of our circumstances. This song is from Father’s heart to all who face a similar diagnosis – and for all those who feel forgotten.

Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness. Surely my soul remembers And is bowed down within me. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. {They} are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
