I was asked to lead worship for our new Oklahoma Governor-elect, Mary Fallin. Mary
used to come to my monthly Nights of Praise in Oklahoma City when she was Lt.
Governor so I new her casually in the context of worship. How cool is that? It was such
an honor to receive the invitation to lead worship at her pre-inauguration prayer service.
Immediately I began asking the Lord is there was a song of deliverance or blessing
for the new Governor. As I was meditating and writing one of my daily devotions the
Holy Spirit simply came over me with the words ‘rise up’. Somehow I just knew those
words were for a song of destiny and blessing for Governor-elect, Fallin. The song came
very quickly. As I made the demo I received another vision from the Lord concerning
orchestrating the song for the service and that I was to use a young man from Oklahoma.
Michael Letney, a young and very gifted worship leader I have come to know over
the past few weeks, was the one the Lord led me to. The arrangement you hear on this
recording is all Michael. Since receiving the song I have come to realize that it will have
a life beyond Oklahoma as a call to the body of Christ to walk in their identity in Christ.
