Recently, I was asked to minister to the student body at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. As I sometimes do, I began to seek the Lord as to whether He had a word or a specific new song for me to deliver to these young people. As I began to meditate on their lives I asked the Holy Spirit to allow me to feel some of their trials and troubles. I soon began to feel that many were dealing with financial pressure, many were dealing with wounded spirits, and that many were dealing with the need to just find rest for their weary souls.

During this time period, I had just been diagnosed with walking pneumonia and was fighting for the ability to breathe physically. It was not much of a stretch for me to equate what I was going through with the spiritual need to fight for our breath at times. This song was the marriage of my own needs and the needs of those young people I would minister to. We all need to remember to simply breathe in God’s presence regardless of our circumstances...regardless of our pain...regardless of the lies of the enemy. May this song be a breath of fresh air to your soul.
