What inspired this song?
There have been many times in my life in
which I trusted someone I should not have
trusted, They approached me with kind words
and deceived me into believing I could trust
them...only to have them wind up using me and
hurting me in some way. As I’ve grown older
and wiser, I have learned to discern who is
truly trustworthy and who is not. I look for
people who would be willing to lay down their
life for me. I can trust them. Untrustworthy
people are lion liars. The lion in Sacrifice is
patterned after the people who have hurt me in life.
