What inspired this song?

From the time I was a boy of about ten years
old until well after I graduated college, I had
moments in which I thought I was losing my
mind...like there was some small worm
working it;’s way through my mind with the
intention of driving me crazy. I learned to use
fantasy and music and basketball and fishing
and riding my horse to quiet those thoughts.
It was not until a few years ago that I decided
to use the things that used to drive me crazy
to help drive my creativity. That is why Bren
even exists! This song is the expression of what
I went through...and how my Father was the
key to setting me free.
