Jesus and the work of the cross and the
cleansing blood and the resurrection are
never very far from my mind. Jesus is never
far from my mind. When the world around
me loses its very mind and walks away
from even common sense - much less 
from the wisdom of God’s Word - I go back
to foundational Truth. When I go back to 
foundational Truth, my mind is flooded with
joy and songs like Risen! are the result.
As the song came I was immediately drawn

back to the time of my first love - when 
Jesus first bombarded me with freeing 
love - when the music of a band called
2nd Chapter of Acts became an integral
and intense part of my healing. As the
melody unfolded, I found great joy in
singing in the style of my first love. 
This song is simple in many ways...but deeply
foundational at the same time.
