After going through a period of feeling alone, a period of discouragement, of being bombarded with the lies of the enemy, God began to flood my soul with the truth of His presence as I humbled myself and cried out to Him. You see, when others let us down, or use us, or simply ignore us, we need to remember that, because of our sin, we don’t deserve to be encouraged, or picked up or even noticed! We deserve death and hell. Yet God has made a way for us never to be alone, always to be encouraged, to be picked up, or be noticed! Jesus is the answer and the only hope for our soul and flesh and spirit. As I sang this song for the first time, God began a healing work deep in my soul that He has continued to this day! The second verse was given to me for my friend, Jeanne Rogers. The beautiful arrangement is by another friend, J. Daniel Smith. This song still lifts me up to exalt Jesus Christ. He is truly what satisfies my soul!
