I Will Sing of My Redeemer - Song History

While thinking about my upcoming knee replacement surgery on August 7, 2018, I wanted to go into the surgery with faith and peace. In prior surgical procedures, I had experienced moments of drug-induced panic and despair. My goal this time was to avoid the lies of the enemy regardless of whether they were drug-induced or not. As I focused on the Truth of God's Word, this little hymn was born. Regardless of my circumstances, the Truth is still the Truth. God will be with me. God will comfort me in my pain. His love for me is unwavering and casts out fear and panic and anxiety and worry and all negative thoughts, drug-induced or otherwise! God's Truth and God's love prevail. It's all about and for the King and for the Kingdom.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.
2 Corinthians 2:14 NASB

I will sing of my Redeemer
And his pure and boundless love
I will sing of my Redeemer
And His pure redeeming blood

That blood has bought me
That blood has sought me
That blood has washed me
Left me redeemed
That blood is cleansing
That blood is mending
That blood defending
The redeemed

O, what a Savior is my Redeemer
O, what a Savior
O, what a King
O, what a Savior is my Redeemer
