This song came in the midst of one of the most rainy summers we’ve had for years here in Oklahoma. After intense flooding in May, the rains never stopped long enough to even allow me to mow portions of my lawn all the way into early October! Yet, in the midst of such rain, my heart and mind felt as if they were trapped in a desert of uncertainty and pain…especially as I was learning how to navigate a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. God made a way for me to see and experience rain in the midst of that desert, though…by allowing me to see my life from His point of view. Even in the middle of the desert off my pain, He is there with the sweet, sweet rain of His presence. It is up to me to step out into that rain and enjoy it…and I do!
