The Very First Christmas Tree - Song History

As I was preparing for the day, I began to think about Christmas and the true meaning...the coming of Christ to save mankind from sin and set mankind free to be who God calls them to be. This song came as I thought about my children and grandchildren for generations to come. I do not want them to forget the reason for the season...and remember Whose we are, who we are called to be, and why we are here... When I think of Christmas, I think of THE tree - the cross of Christ...the place of my atonement. the place of deepest sorrow yet the place of deepest joy.

But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
