Run to the Arms of Jesus – Song History
Dennis Jernigan received this song on June 18, 2008
This song is for desperate, lonely, hurting people. This song is for people who know they need hope. It is for people who feel their hope is gone. It is for those who feel worthless, forgotten, or rejected. There is hope as long as you have breath…and that hope is called Jesus. He will meet you right where you are…and He loves you enough to not leave you there. Walk with Him intimately. He is not like any other love you have ever known. You can trust Him with your heart and life. I did – and I will never be the same for it. He took me out of a life of despair and loneliness and gave me a strong foundation built on the Rock of His love from which to live my life in truth and freedom. In that place I found healing. You can, too. Run to His arms…and find hope there.
Be strong and let your heart take courage,
All you who hope in the LORD.
Psalm 31:24 NASB
Run to the Arms of Jesus
Verse
For the outcast all alone
For the man without a home
For the desperate heart
That gives their soul away
In the hope they’ll be held close
For the sad, neglected wife
For the man life has passed by
For that rejected man
Who’s dying all alone
For the way he lived his life
There is hope
There is hope
Chorus
Hope is found in the desperate place
When you’ve fallen down
When you need some grace
Hope is found when you’ve given up
When you can’t go on
When you’ve had enough
Run to the arms of Jesus
Run to the arms of Jesus
Run to the arms of love
Verse
For the devastated , sad
For the love they never had
For that wounded heart
That will not trust again
Yet the longing drives them mad
For the soul where hope has died
For the dreams they’ve been denied
For that shameful heart
Who hides in fear alone
Keeping everything inside
There is hope
There is hope
Chorus
Bridge
He will never leave you
When you fall apart
He will never leave you
You can trust His heart
He will never, never ever leave you
You can trust His heart
He will never, never ever leave you
Run into His arms!
Chorus
