I know. I know. I keep talking about the fact that I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but that is the reality from which I seem to be crying out to the Lord most about these days. Parkinson’s is not a death sentence but it is very debilitating at times. It is in such times when I must fix my eyes on Jesus and receive His sufficient grace to get through. On June 5, 2020 I underwent my third stem cell replacement procedure to try and slow the progress of the disease. Immediately after the surgical procedure, I had a choice to make. Either I could wallow in self-pity or I could exalt my Redeemer. I chose to exalt my Redeemer. This song was born three days after the procedure and has been a daily reminder to me to fix my eyes on Jesus. This simple practice has done wonders for my attitude, my stamina, my mental awareness, my creativity, my relationships with my wife, my kids, and my grandkids. What it has done has been to focus my mind on truth - utter reality. Jesus. I will boast in my weakness that I might know the strength of the power of God to heal my soul…and my body.
