This song came during a period of my life
when I was first learning about spiritual warfare.
Our war is not against flesh and blood but against
spirits and principalities and the demonic realm.
As a result, I began to discover that, as a new creation,
I had also been equipped with the weapons necessary
to hold sway in that battle! Worship and praise
became my most-used weapon of choice
because it encompasses every aspect of my
being. Rather than running from the battle, I began
to run to the battle, facing down my enemy -
the Liar - with the Truth. As I took command
of my own soul and recognized my authority over
the Liar and his lies, I began to renew my mind -
THE battleground - in ways I never had imagined
possible in this life. This song was born during this
time. It has been almost 30 years since I first
received it...but now the times seem even darker
and the song more appropriate than I had
previously realized. Use this song in your
personal arsenal of praise!
