As I was preparing for a night of praise at Destiny Life Church of Claremore and Owasso, Oklahoma, I asked pastor, Glenn Shaffer, if there were any specific areas of ministry he would like me to address. This is one of my ways of assessing the needs of the flock I am going to be ministering to. He was quick in his reply. “I believe we are hungry for a fresh breath of the Spirit in our worship. A call to be worshipers. Just a refreshing.” I began to meditate on his words. The song was birthed quickly and I received a personal refreshing in my soul. I did not know how much I needed a touch from the Lord until that moment the song was born. As I thought about the intense months of a hectic ministry schedule coupled with the stresses of losing my dad and the stresses of dealing with hurting people in my everyday existence, I realized I was on the verge of an emotional burnout. This song continues to resonate in my soul since that day. On another note, I think it was very befitting that the song was born on Friday the 13th of October and that the ministry time in which I first taught the song at Destiny Life Church was only two days later on the 15th. I take that as a sign of victory over darkness during a very dark month! Just an added bonus from the Lord!
