It seems that ever since I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, the enemy has done his utmost to try and get me self-focused…to dwell in the deepening darkness of self-pity. Of course, that is not the place of abundant life and it is certainly not the kind of thinking that produces transformation. As I cried out to God in one of those moments of deep self-focus, I simply asked the Lord to meet me in the darkness and to help me to see what His prospective might be. In that moment, the room was filled with a sense of holiness - a separateness from the world. Either God is with me or He is not. Either He means to use all things for my good or He doesn’t. Either He is in the fire with me or He isn’t. As my prayer progressed, I began to take my eyes off of myself and to focus them  on Who Father says He is. He is the sustaining Bread of Life. He is the refreshing Living Water. He is like the air I breathe…and He wastes nothing.
