Through the years, Dennis Jernigan has had many opportunities to work with our nation’s military. He has worked with the chaplaincy service at the Airforce Academy, Langley Airforce Base, Ft. Wainright, Ft. Leavenworth, and at Ramstein Airforce Base to name a few. He has also been privileged to minister to and with Protestant Women of the Chapel and write the theme song for the National Day of Prayer in both 2004 and 2005. He sang I Salute You at the 2005 Naismith Awards (for the nation’s top collegiate basketball players) and recently ministered several of these songs at a Veteran’s Day ceremony keynoted by Gen. Tommy Franks. All that to say this: Dennis Jernigan understands freedom and understands the price freedom requires. These songs have been born out of his love for freedom and love for the USA.
