Hi Dennis,
I heard your story today on for faith and family and I was moved by God's amazing power to restore you and give you freedom to live and love Him above all else.
The reason I'm writing is because I my daughter has a friend (12years old) who lives part of the time with her dad and part time with her mom and her mom's "room mate". I suspected that her mom might be in a homosexual relationship from the beginning, but it's something that has been a family secret for a long time.
My husband and I have a relationship with this young girls dad and I have gotten to know her mom pretty well over the last 2 years. Recently the mom told her 2 daughters that she was a lesbian and that it's not by her own choice. She explained to them that the woman who's been living with her for years is her partner.
Even though I and my husband have known about her lifestyle, we've allowed our daughter to spend time with her friend and her mother and her roommate and I don't regret that choice. I've gotten to know the two of them and purposely tried to get together with them; inviting them for dinner or going to hang out with our kids together. They have been very guarded and mostly refused. But when we'd hang out watching our girls playing soccer, we had alot of time to talk and I sensed a very loving Mom who fiercley guarded her two daughters. In fact I love her heart and have been praying for her and her friend but I'm not sure what kind of boundries I should put up to protect my daughter.
When things were a secret, I felt that my daughter was safe to sleep over because the other woman had her own room. I never felt like she was in any danger.
Since the secret is out, I'm not sure how that changes things and I'm really wanting to know how to love these woman well and how to protect my daughter. I would really appreciate any incite that you have for my husband and I.
I want these two woman to know Jesus and to be set free.
