Sexual Impurity

I have been struggling for quite sometime with sexual impurity (thoughts, pornagraphy, masterbation). I am taking some steps to overcome it. Filter, Bible reading and such. I need prayer and the Lord to reign as king over me and my struggle.

Dear Struggler:
You are right in pursuing freedom from this impurity. We should purpose not to walk in sin. Yes it is a fight BUT it is one that is winnable! Every one of us must wrestle with our own particular sin-patterns AND the Lord promises freedom as we pursue Him and His Presence. I think that the real key to sexual sin is to get to the root of the problem, call it what it is, and get accountable. YOU MUST be willing to do WHATEVER it takes to get truly free. You know as well as I do that this area can be so easily hidden – or so we think. The Lord sees it all! Every time you fall “in secret” HE is there! He loves you YET He wants more for you than this. And really, He DIED for you to walk free! There are so many Biblical truths that speak to this subject, but briefly let me relay a few. FIRST: the Word does not say “to flee” very much. Often we are directed to “stand firm”, etc. But in Corinthians Paul says to FLEE IMMORALITY! RUN!! ACTIVELY AVOID!!! That is YOUR first step! A habit of AVOIDING places, times of temptation. SECOND: We reap what we sow. God’s Word says that if we sow to the FLESH we will reap corruption BUT if we sow to the Spirit we will reap the essence of Eternal Life NOW! You may have some “seeds” of lust and sin that are still sprouting and growing. You cannot change the past BUT you can start sowing rightly now. Finally, if you are serious about wanting to be free, your Father will lead you out. “He will beautify the HUMBLE with salvation(deliverance)!!!”

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV

I was at your concert last Saturday. Although, you had been forgiven you spoke of continued guilt, depression, and the inability to forgive yourself. Also, the feeling of being used. And the comments of others regarding your sin, that made you feel as though the people around you would judge you. Well, this pretty much how I have felt in my life. I came to a point in my life, when I could not eat, I felt like I was suffocating, it was like I was being buried alive. It was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. I confessed everything to a close friend. But I could not imagine telling anyone else (aside from God). I've greived, I've asked for mercy and forgiveness. Is that enough?
